Baton Rouge – Do you volunteer or serve on a non-profit board in Louisiana?  If you answered yes, join the Louisiana Trust for Historic Preservation (LTHP) and other non-profit leaders to learn and sharpen skills to help make your organization more efficient for all involved.  This is a 1.5-day workshop from May 20-21 at the Red Stick Social in Mid City Baton Rouge.  Registration is open through May 15 at $75/person for full registration– seating is limited.  Discounts are available to current LTHP members.

While this 1.5 day workshop will be highlighting topics for  preservation and preservation related organizations (historical societies, museums, Main Street organizations, etc), much of the information discussed and evaluated during the workshop is applicable to all types of non-profits here in Louisiana.

About our speaker:

Esther Hall has been involved in nonprofit work for decades, both as an executive director and active volunteer. She has served as board president and chaired nominating, strategic planning, resource development committees and led a capital campaign. Her work experience spans municipal and state government, the arts and museums, non-profits, and foundations. Esther was affiliated with the National Trust for Historic Preservation beginning in 1991 and is the author of Investing in Volunteers: A Guide to Effective Volunteer Management published as part of the National Trust’s Preservation Book Series. She has provided consultation and training for statewide and local preservation organizations throughout the country. Currently, Esther serves as the Chair of the City of Raleigh Historic Resources and Museums Advisory Board.
