504 East Main Street - ca. 1906 Lyons Market Building - Homer Courthouse Square
Retail - Louisiana
One of the oldest wooden storefronts on Homer’s Courthouse Square is ready for redevelopment. The building served as the Lyons Brothers Market in the early years of the 20th century, providing fresh meat and fish to the area. The building recently received new roof decking and metal roofing, as well as exterior paint. A narrow connection between 504 East Main and its neighbor is included with this property. A covered deck and yard are located in the rear of the building and are accessible from the public alley.
The Lyons Market Building is located in Homer’s local historic district, as well as in its National Register Historic District, and is eligible for state and federal historic tax credits. These programs for income-producing properties may be combined, for the potential of 40% of eligible project expenses being reimbursed. For more information about these programs, please visit the Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation’s site. Business owners will also have the assistance of Main Street Homer.
According to the Louisiana DOTD, an average of over 6,500 vehicles passed by the front of this building each day in 2016.
This historic property is being sold as-is with preservation easements. Contact Brian Davis at LTHP.email@example.com or 318.267.5220 for more information or to schedule a showing.
